Volunteers enjoy Human Rights day by working at Highveld Ridge SPCA
Highveld Ridge SPCA urgently needs cat- and dog food.
EVANDER – The Highveld Ridge SPCA hosted a Volunteer Day on Wednesday, 21 March where the community had the opportunity to help SPCA staff and also to spend some time with the animals.
Some volunteers helped to clean the horses’ camp, while others spent time with the dogs.
The Highveld Ridge SPCA will be hosting a “Through their Eyes Sitting Day” on Saturday, 21 April.
It is the first time that the SPCA is hosting this day and they need businesses and organisations that want to support them, to volunteer people to sit in a kennel for the whole day.
By donating money, the person who sits in the kennel will get benefits such as a breakfast and treats at tea time.
The volunteers, nominated by businesses, will sit in the kennel from 7am to 5pm and as with animals, admission forms and all the admin will need to be done.
They will also share a kennel with dogs on that day.
The SPCA is out of dog- and cat food and Ms Jenneth Geel, senior inspector at the Highveld Ridge SPCA, urged the community to support them and donate food.
