Chairman of the Democratic Alliance, Mr Johannes van der Wath, passed away after an alleged heart attack earlier today.

Mr Van der Wath played a leadership role of the DA in Standerton for the last five years.

“I just had coffee with him a few hours ago,” said Mr Rosier de Ville, caucus leader of the DA.

“What a terrible shock and loss for all who knew him.”
