The increase also affects the tariffs at the toll gates on the N17 highway on the Highveld.

Adjustments to the toll tariffs include the increase in Value Added Tax (VAT) from 14% to 15% as announced by the Minister of Finance in the 2018/19 Budget Speech.

Motorists will now be paying at the mainline toll booths R35 per vehicle in class 1, R88 in class 2, R132 in class 3 and R176 in Class 4. At the off- or on-ramps, the tariff will now be R21, R53, R79 or R106 per vehicle in their respective classes.

When travelling between Secunda and Bethal, you will now have to pay R17-50 one way if you are driving a normal car.

Class 2 drivers will pay R44, Class 3 R67 and R88 for class 4 vehicles.

Motorists will cough up R31-50 at the Ermelo Plaza per car.

Class 2 vehicles’ toll will be R79, and R118 for Class 3 and R157 for Class 4.

Discounts offered at specific toll plazas for frequent users still apply.
