Gogo Shuthekile Nkosi from Fernie in Empuluzi turns 111 years old

Ms Shuthekile Nkosi from Fernie in Empluluzi turned 111 years old on Saturday, 21 April.

Born in Wakkerstroom, Ms Nkosi does not remember her exact date of birth and lets her children celebrate any other day of the year.

Four generations come after her with just two of her nine children still living.

When asked what has kept her alive and strong, she adamantly stated it’s the will of God, the Almighty.

“I cannot see anymore and my hearing is bad, but I will carry on living till my dying days,” she said.

Ms Nkosi is currently spending her golden years at her homestead.
