Trichardt CPF chairman says parents should know the whereabouts of their minor kids

This was the second time in less than two months that we have been running around trying to find children because their parents are not aware of their movements

TRICHARDT – Parents must make sure they know when their children are going out and where they will be going.

This is the message that Mr Clarke van der Walt, chairman of Trichardt Community Policing Forum (CPF), wants to send to all parents.

This came after two kids, aged 13 and three, went missing in Trichardt on Sunday. The police, the community and the CPF spent several hours searching for the children, only to find that they had walked to a shop and then accepted a lift back home from a motorist.

“This was the second time in less than two months that we have been running around trying to find children because their parents were not aware of their movements,” said Mr Van der Walt.

“This is frustrating and a waste of resources. Please parents, be more responsible.”
