Municipality answers questions regarding racial slur from an employee
Ms Thobeka Mtshiselwa said that, depending on the outcome of the investigation by the investigating officer and/or the employer representative, disciplinary steps may be taken and a formal disciplinary committee be constituted.
Mr Louis Jansen van Rensburg of the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Standerton, opened a case of crimen injuria following an alleged racist comment on 3 April by a municipal employee on an article published by the Standerton Advertiser.
The comment was made after the chairman of DA, Mr Johannes van der Wath, passed away due to a heart attack.
The statement read: “Nothing is sad here, whites must die vele bayizinja”. (Roughly translated, they must die because they are dogs)
