Author Simeon Moba Rasedile donates books to the Secunda and eMbalenhle public libraries

A Sespedi novel for the community that talks about reigniting the fading culture

SECUNDA – Mr Simeon Moba Rasedile donated two copies of his first book, Mmakgodu A Bobirwa, a Sepedi novel, to the Secunda and eMbalenhle public libraries.

The book is about the life and culture of the Pedi people.

“The reason for writing this book was because of our culture that is fading away.

“The little ones must know their roots and culture.”

As a way of promoting his book, Mr Rasedile donated other copies to national libraries.

“I felt I should donate copies to the libraries where I studied for my business communications qualifications.”

Mr Bheki Kubheka, acting head of Marketing and Communications of Govan Mbeki Municipality, thanked Mr Rasedile for the books.

He urged the public to explore the resources available at the public libraries.

The municipality has libraries in Secunda, eMbalenhle, Kinross, Bethal, eMzinoni, Milan Park, Lebohang, Evander, Thistle Grove, Eendracht and Trichardt.

They are open from Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 4pm and on Saturday between 8am and 12pm.
