Work on sewage projects in Rooikoppen comes to a standstill

According to Mr Bonginkosi Mphuthi, chairman of PRET, the project has been awarded to businesses from outside Rooikoppen.

Practical Radical Economic Transformation (P.R.E.T.) halted two sewage projects in Rooikoppen on 13 June over job demands.

According to Mr Bonginkosi Mphuthi, chairman, the projects have been awarded to businesses from outside Rooikoppen.

“We want the projects to continue, but it must be a Rooikoppen company, subcontractor and employees,” he said.

The projects are meant to solve the decade-long sewage crisis in the area.

“We also want a meeting with municipal officials to clarify their hiring processes.”
