Anglers found a body floating in the Vaal River in Sakhile on 29 June.
They notified the Standerton Police, who enlisted the help of Delta 1 Rescue Diving.

According to Capt Fanie Nhlabathi, spokesman of the Standerton Police, relatives from Durban arrived, who did not see the body, but their description matched.
An inquest was opened until a postmortem can determine the cause of death.
