Suspects in custody for possession of dagga

The suspects will appear at the Bethal Magistrates Court soon.

BETHAL – Two people were arrested by the Flying Squad for possession of dagga on Thursday, 5 July at about 9.30am.

Officers on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle on the N17 highway between Bethal and Trichardt.

They instructed the driver to pull over and asked to search the vehicle.

They found nine wrapped bags of compressed dagga in the back of the vehicle and the driver and the passenger were arrested for possession of dagga.

The dagga weighed 27,469kg and had a street value of R40 000.

The men will appear in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court soon.
