Pastor faces sexual harassment charges for alleged child pornography

Police calling residents to assist any information regarding this case

eMZINONI – A local pastor has been arrested in connection with alleged child pornography.

According to the police, the pastor usually invited girls into his house and claimed he was training them for acting.

It is alleged that he then instructed them to undress, sit on the couch and allegedly took their pictures and videos.

His arrest came after one of the victims reported it to her parents and the parents mobilised other parents and went to the police station to open a case.

Const Cynthia Mtsweni, of Bethal Police said the a case of sexual harassment has been open.

“The suspect is in custody and so far 15 victims between 10 and 16 have come forward.

“It is alleged that the suspect told his victims that he is taking the pictures to reed dance organizers.

“We are calling others who might have more information to come forward.

“We urge parents to look after their children and to always know about the whereabouts of their children.

“If children are involved in sport or anything of that nature, parents should always ensure that they know the adults involved and often go to see the place they children go to.”

The suspect is expected to appear before the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 4 October.
