BETHAL – A 28-year-old man was allegedly caught in the act of raping a 57-year-old woman on Tuesday, 9 October.
It is alleged that the victim was going to work when she was approached by an unknown man demanding money and a cell phone.
The victim allegedly told him that she does not have a cell phone or money.
The suspect then forcefully drag the woman and strangled her until she fell down. He then raped her.
Police said while the suspect was busy, three men saw what was happening.
They rescued the victim and apprehended the suspect and the police responded swiftly.
The suspect was arrested.
