Solidarity membes are ready to march
Streets in Sandton will be closed during the march
Sasol employees belonging to the trade union Solidarity, left this morning early in busses from Kruik Church to join the protest action at Sasol’s head office in Sandton.
Solidarity is in dispute with Sasol about the petrol giant’s newest shares scheme, Khanyisa, that does not include white employees.
Solidarity will hand over a memorandum to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and to Sasol’s head office.
According to Mr Dirk Hermann, Chief Executive of Solidarity, the trade union will also serve court papers to Sasol today and the court papers will be an application to the Labour Court to declare Sasol’s Khanyisa scheme as unlawful.
Many streets in Sandton will be closed by the metro police and the protest will begin in Mushroom Farm Park.
