The Department of Social Development campaigned against the excessive use of alcohol and substance abuse at the taxi rank in Mbonani Mayisela Street on 12 December.
“We want to make society conscious about the prevalent dangers of substance abuse,” Ms Zenzile Makushe, programme manager of the department said.
“Crime and substance abuse are closely linked.”
According to Ms Makushe, the taxi rank was chosen because it is hot-spot for all types of people to have easier access to people affected by substance abuse.
