Two alleged drug dealers’ case postponed to next year

Third alleged drug dealer's case will continue in Vanderbijlpark Magistrate's Court

SECUNDA – Two alleged drug dealers, Mr Therandran Frank Naidoo (36) and Ms Belinda Margeret Swart (49), appeared in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 6 December.

The case was postponed to 8 January.

They were arrested with Mr Japhet (Jeff) Chiebuka Onuoha (32) on Sunday, 12 August on the road between Secunda and Evander by members of the Mpumalanga Hawks SANEB (South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau) department, the Secunda Dog Unit and Crime Intelligence.

Crystal meth to the value of R31 000 was found.

The drugs were hidden under the passenger seat of a Fortuner the trio travelled in.

The total value of the Fortuner, drugs and cell phones that were confiscated totalled R440 000.

All three suspects appeared briefly in court after they were arrested.

Ms Swart was released on R500 bail after her first court appearance and Mr Naidoo on R1 500 bail after his second court appearance.

When Mr Onuoha again appeared in court on Thursday, 16 August for a formal bail application, he was granted R1 000 bail.

However, during the payment of the bail, officials connected him with a drug-related case in Vanderbijlpark and he was re-arrested.

He appeared in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 12 November.
