A former Thobelani Secondary School teacher was gunned down in his place of business in Papriaan Street in Ext 8 on 20 December.
Mr Eugene Themba Twala (50) was discovered by his son in the shop at around 3.30am.
“An amount of R1 000 was stolen and the reason for the murder is yet unknown,” Capt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, said.
The deceased sustained injuries to his head and chest.
An investigation into the matter is underway.
