Cars mangled in head-on collision on New Year’s Day

BETHAL – The fire brigade had to pull the mangled wrecks of a taxi and a bakkie apart and then used the jaws of life to extract occupants on an accident scene on the N17 road to Ermelo this morning, 1 January.

The two vehicles collided head-on outside of Bethal just before 5am.

ER24 ambulances transported a critically injured patient to the Evander Hospital.

Bethal EMS took a patient with moderate injuries to Bethal Hospital.

Bethal Police were also on the scene.
