Stolen pipes found at accident scene in Evander

Security companies found a load of stolen pipes in the veld close to the bakkie’s wreck at daybreak

EVANDER – The discovery of a cargo of iron pipes on an accident scene led to a theft case being opened at the Evander Police Station on Tuesday morning, 12 February.

According to Mr Alf Byleveldt from Jelani Security, a white bakkie with several men inside the cabin and at the back of the bakkie, rolled into the veld next to the R546 between Evander and eMbalenhle during the night.

Several of the passengers were allegedly injured and were transported by ambulance to hospital.

Workers of Jelani Security and SSG, a security company on the mines on the area, found the load of stolen pipes in the veld close to the bakkie’s wreck at daybreak.

The pipes were possibly stolen at Shaft 8.
