Man seriously injured when car rolls on R547
Seriously injured motorist is taken to Evander Hospital
HIGHVELD – The driver of a Chevrolet Spark is seriously injured in a single vehicle accident on the R547 between the Leslie Mine café and the R50 intersection at Leeuwpan tonight, 2 March.
According to Sifiso Mathebula, reporter for Echo/Ridge who came across the accident, it initially looked as if the man inside the car was a passenger and that the driver must have been flung from the vehicle.
Mathebula called the relevant emergency services for help.
It was then established that the man in the car was the sole occupant and driver of the vehicle.
He allegedly lost control over his vehicle and it rolled several times before coming to a stop in the veld.
The man sustained serious injuries.
ER24 ambulance services, Langamed South and the provincial EMS were on the scene.
EMS took him to Evander Hospital.
Mr Alf Byleveldt from Jelani Security said on his way to this accident, he also encountered another accident near the Osizweni and Brendan Village cross roads where three vehicles collided, but no injuries were sustained.
