Bethal cops arrest young man for being in the possession of drugs

The young man was detained at Bethal Police Station for further investigation and appeared in Bethal Magistrate’s Court facing charges of possession of drugs

BETHAL – A 22-year-old man was arrested by the Bethal Police members from the crime prevention unit on Thursday, 21 February.

The patrolling policemen stopped the young man in the street and searched him.

According to Const Thomas Mogadime, social crime prevention and communication officer for Bethal Police Station, the police found a packet containing seven pieces of what appeared to be rock cocaine.

The police then arrested the suspect for being in the possession of suspected drugs.

The young man was detained at Bethal Police Station for further investigation and appeared in Bethal Magistrate’s Court facing charges of possession of drugs.

“Bethal public streets, residential areas and places of entertainment have become the target market for drugs.

“The police, will work tirelessly in ensuring that we create a drug free area for the society,” said Const Thomas Mogadime.
