eMBALENHLE – The police raised concerns over the increase of burglaries in the area.
The police called on residents to enhance their security measures and to ensure that gates and doors are locked, especially after hours.
This comes after a man heard voices near his gate and went outside to investigate.
The people at the gate allegedly pretended to be lost, and asked for directions to the nearest tavern.
The man told the police that as he was directing them, the suspects pushed him aside and went inside his house.
He alleged that the suspects assaulted him and a relative.
They then demanded money, laptops and cell phones at gun point and fled the scene.
No one has yet been arrested as police are investigating.
