EVANDER – Members of aMaGorilla Forum were picketing outside the Evander Police Station to demand answers about the arrest of some of their members.
This came after over 40 members of the aMaGorilla forum were arrested last night.
The arrested forum members and community members raided homes of alleged drug dealers in the area.
The members of the forum are accusing police of brutality and torture because some police officers are allegedly implicated in the drug syndicate in the area.
They said during the operation police were brutal and assaulted them.
They alleged that some police threatened to kill them if the do forward with the videos they have.
The forum is intending to approach Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) to launch a complaint against police.
Sgt Sibusiso Mbuli, Evander Police, distanced the police from the allegations and said the police acted in accordance to the law.

EVANDER – Members of the Govan Mbeki Community Forum known as aMaGorilla, who have been raiding houses of alleged drug dealers, have been arrested.
More than 40 are expected to appear in court next week.
They are facing charges of malicious damage to property, assault and a few other charges.
Police have appealed to anyone that had been assaulted, robbed or property damaged, to come forward and open cases.
Police said those affected by this can go to Evander Police Station to open cases.
