Two die in horror crash on N17 between Bethal and Ermelo

Two men died and two were injured in an accident this morning on the N17 between Bethal and Ermelo.

Two trucks and three vehicles collided.

ER24 personnel as well as other emergency services, arrived at the scene to find the vehicles and trucks scattered along the road.

According to Mr Russel Meiring, Communications Officer of ER24, one of the men was dead when paramedics found him trapped inside his vehicle.

The driver of one of the trucks was found trapped inside the cab of the truck.

Ermelo Fire Services had to use the Jaws of Life to free him.

He was treated and provided with advanced life support intervention, however, according to Mr Meiring, his vital signs rapidly diminished and CPR was performed on him, but he also died.
