Young model appears in numerous soapies and advertisements on television

SECUNDA – Ms Schanté van Heerden (19), a former Secunda resident, left for America on Sunday 30 June to attend a workshop hosted for models, dancers, singers and actors.

The workshop will kick-off in New York at the New York Film Academy whereafter the models will fly to Orlando in Florida in America to take part in the Arts Convention.

This will give them the chance to perform in front of agents, casting directors, managers and record producers from Hollywood, New York, Europe and Asia.

The modelling agency Ms Van Heerden works with, 33 and Me Model and Artist Management, sent her to an audition whereafter she was chosen to take part in the International Arts Talent Showcase (IATS) last year.

At the IATS, she had the chance to showcase her talent in front of an international talent scout, Kim Myers and Rhavynn Drummer, an independent casting director for Tyler Perry Studios.
