13-Year-old girl raped and killed in eMzinoni

eMZINONI – A 13-year-old girl was raped, murdered and dumped near her home in Malema Section.

It is alleged that she left her home on Sunday, 8 September in the morning after she was sent to a nearby shop by a neighbour. She never returned.

According to the police her parents later in the day, with some community members, conducted a search for her, without notifying the police. They failed to locate her.

Her body was discovered near her home by a passer-by on Monday, 9 September who then informed her parents.

They then reported the matter to the police.
An intense investigation by the pilice is currently underway.

The Provincial Commissioner of the police in Mpumalanga, Lieut/Gen Mondli Zuma, condemned the brutal acts of violent crimes committed, against women and children.

He also requested the community to immediately report to the police should they suspect that a family member is missing.
