Women golfers shine at Walker Park Open in Evander

Deane Jansen claimed first place in the A Division with a gross score of 77.

Twenty-five women teed off at Walker Park Golf Club on October 3 for the club’s Women’s Open.

Deane Jansen claimed first place in the A Division with a gross score of 77, while Cherise Stapelberg finished second on 86.

Vicky Stoltz won the B Division with a gross score of 88. Boiketlo Lekhula took second place on 91, while Celine Burger finished third on 90.

Fienie Siebrits was the C Division winner with 41 points. Charissa Stapelberg finished second with 39 points, followed by Kerry Boyce in third with 38 points.

In the D Division, Kara Janse Van Rensburg took first place with 48 points. Mieke Bam finished second on 44 points, while M-J Russell claimed third place with 43 points.

The nearest-to-the-pin prizes went to Kerry Boyce on hole two, Deane Jansen on hole eight and Lindi Van Der Merwe on hole 15.

Dorothy Pieterse won the longest drive on hole nine, while Pauline Myburg took the honours on hole 16.
