Ushen wants to become fireman, doctor and senior manager at Sasol
Four-year-old knows what he wants in life
SECUNDA – Ushen Naidoo is only four years old, but he already knows what he wants to become when he is big.
“I want to be a fireman, a doctor and a senior manager at gasification at Sasol,” said the young boy.
His mother, Ms Lerisha Moodley, said she, her husband and Mr Darien Naidoo work at Sasol and her father, Mr Selva Moodley worked for Sasol for 30 years before he retired.
“Ushen hears when we talk about how our day was while we are having dinner and he is fascinated with Sasol and always wants to go there when we drive to Secunda,” said Ms Moodley.
Ushen’s answer when asked why he wants to become a doctor, fireman and senior manager is: “Because I want to.”
Ms Moodley said Ushen loves watching Fireman Sam on television and one of his favourite toys is his red fire truck.
“I want to work with my daddy at Sasol,” said Ushen.
His talk about what he wants to become one day began when he had to prepare a speech recently for career day at his school.
He is a learner at Curro Castle.
Ms Moodley’s brother, Mr Yugan Moodley, was one of the kids on Sasol’s first calendar that was brought out 30 years ago and on the photo that was taken at the training centre at Sasol, he is seen with two other kids wearing hard hats and Sasol clothes.
“So Ushen’s uncle was on the calendar and now he is so intrigued with Sasol,” said Ms Moodley. I think he loves Sasol so much because of the animals there and the fire trucks and the smoke stacks.”
