Eskom moves from Stage 2 to Stage 4 load shedding in Standerton
Eskom urged customers to reduce demand as a concerted, collective effort can help to avoid or lessen the level of load shedding

The power utility has lost additional generation units this morning, increasing unplanned breakdowns (UCLF) to 14 200MW as at 9:25am.
Along with a higher demand of about 600MW, it necessitates load shedding.
The scheduled interruptions are this evening from 9pm to 11.30pm.
Tomorrow, 10 December interruptions are expected from 5am to 7.30am and 1pm to 3.30pm.
The incessant rains have caused flooding at some power stations, which have further led to load losses and has impacted supply.
Eskom reminded customers that load shedding at Stage 4 is no cause for alarm as the system is being effectively controlled and said it is a responsible act and highly controlled process, implemented to protect the country form a national blackout.
Eskom urged customers to reduce demand as a concerted, collective effort can help to avoid or lessen the level of load shedding.
