BETHAL – Bethal Community Police Forum (CPF) hosted a record breaking blood drive on Saturday, 7 December

Residence of Bethal eMzinoni, and even Secunda, supported the blood drive.

They managed to donate 124 units of blood for the day.

This means that 372 lives can be saved, as one unit of blood donated can save up to three lives.

Everyone who participated in making the day a success can be seen as a hero.

The CPF feels proud even though they did not reach their target of 140 units donated.

Mr Jaap Pretorius, chairman of Bethal CPF said: “Being part of such a great team and community is our greatest drive to keep on our mission in helping to change lives and fight crime.

“We want to thank the South African National Blood Services (SANBS), and especially Bethal branch, Dynamic Steel Secunda for the voucher of R2 500, Freidrich Hoft for sponsoring two biltong hampers, JP Meyer for entertaining the visitors, the CPF proto team and sector leaders for assisting during the day, Bethal residents and neighbors who donated, and Bethal CPF exco members.”

Mr Schalk van der Sandt donates blood during Bethal CPF’s blood drive. With him is Quinton Botha (6).
