LEANDRA – Lwazi Sithole had to pull through pain and rejection to ensure that his dream of becoming a professional musician is realised.
It was not easy to convince people that he has the talent and he felt rejected whenever he raised the matter of music to his friends and church folks.
They were not convinced that Lwazi has what it takes to be a singer.
However, he did not give up, but rather used this as a stepping stone.
He made it his mission to convince his parents that he wanted to pursue a career in music and that he wanted to go a music school.
He said this was not an easy thing to do because his parents wanted him to study something else.
“I got my parents approval miraculously!
“It was because of God’s approval.
“I feel like they were bound to approve.
“At my church on the Crossover service, my pastor declared that 2019 is the year of God’s approval and I believe and it got me where I am today, – which is another biblical testimony.
“The Bible says believe in God and you shall be established, believe in his prophets and you shall prosper.”
Lwazi was singing in a church praise and worship team at the age of 16 and is still singing in the worship team of Unfailing Love Worship Centre in Leandra.
As a result he discovered his passion for music and decided to pursue a music career.
Lwazi is currently a music student at Campus Of Performing Arts (COPA) in Midrand, working to became a Gospel artist.
He said this year he has seen God’s favour in his life as he had a chance to go overseas.
This came after he entered and won a competition called the Nando’s Music Exchange Program which got him and eight other South Africans out of a total of 40 finalists an all-expenses-paid trip to London for a week in September to collaborate with other aspiring artists from Australia and the United Kingdom.
He testifies that because he found Christ, he found himself in Him!
He is inspired and motivated by Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”The highlight of Lwazi’s music journey was on Good Friday when he attended the Joyous Celebration 23 album launch at Carnival City and had the chance to sing for the crowd before the show.
He sang one of his favorite songs “Ewe Getsemane” by Sbunoah which blew the crowd away.
Lwazi has a dream of being a member of the Joyous Celebration choir.
“It has been my dream job since I discovered my passion.”
He intends to host his own show in Leandra soon at his home church.
