#Day6 of #SouthAfricaLockdown: People shop in Secunda today

According to a resident, police vans were present, but the police just sat in their vans or just drove around in their vans observing the people.

Although there is a 21-day lockdown regulation in South Africa because of the coronavirus, Secunda’s CBD does not look like there is a lockdown at all.

People are standing in long queues at the few grocery stores that are open today, 1 April.

According to a resident, police vans were present, but the police just sat in their vans or just drove around in their vans observing the people.

Col Herold Mashile, Secunda Police station commander, said he visited Secunda town and the mall and although it was busy, people were complying with the rules and regulations by standing 1m apart from one another.

“People are allowed to visit shops to buy food, we cannot prevent them from doing that,” said Col Mashile.
