AfriForum jumps in and cleans Bethal

“There is no up-keeping of our town from the Govan Mbeki Municipality, we have to jump in and do it ourselves,”

BETHAL – With the lack of service delivery in the Bethal area from Govan Mbeki Municipality, AfriForum has become known for their help in fixing or patching up potholes, erecting water tanks in areas that have no water supply and putting down rubbish bins, which are cleaned by a registered company on a weekly basis, in and around Bethal.

Last week, AfriForum cleared out bushes and verges on the corner of Malherbe and Church Street.

They also cut grass by the Bethal Police Station next to the N17.

“We do the best we can with the support of businesses to make a visible difference,” said Mr Hennie Bekker, District Coordinator, Lowveld District AfriForum.

“There is no up-keeping of our town from the Govan Mbeki Municipality, we have to jump in and do it ourselves,” said Mr Bekker.
