Emergency services confirmed that a woman died during the protests on the road between Bethal and Morgenzon at about 2am this morning, 20 June.
The woman was allegedly run over by a truck while residents protested and burnt tyres about the ongoing electricity problems in Bethal and eMzinoni.
Bethal EMS declared the woman dead on the scene.
