BETHAL – The Bethal police’s stock theft unit recovered two stolen cows in a valley behind Aangewys Hostels off the R545 between Bethal and Kriel on Thursday, 25 June.
Upon further investigation, two more calves were also recovered inside a coal mine which is believed to be occupied by Zama-zamas (illegal miners).
The calves were found bound by their hooves.
