Blow flies end up in home of Standerton resident

The Bakkers in Beyers Naudé Street have to contend with a sewage leak in front of the property, resulting in blow flies or bottle flies inside the house.

According to research done for Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County at https://lancaster.unl.edu, these insects lay eggs in decomposing organic matter.

The first possibility is that there is a break in sewerage pipes, where sewage is seeping beneath the pipe where flies can get to it.

The newspaper has been directed to the Gert Sibande District Municipality in the past, resulting in miscommunication.

Photos of the sewage leak and a short background of the problem were also sent.
