Family of six loses everything after shack burns in Ermelo

“All we have is the clothes that we wore that day.”

A family of six lost everything after their shack caught on fire in Wesselton, Ermelo on 13 September.

The family consists of a one-year-old baby girl, a four-year-old girl, an 18-year-old girl that is completing her matric at Itafa Secondary School, a 25-year-old woman who is studying at UNISA, a 26-year-old woman and the mother who is 50-years-old.

Ms Thobile Mngomezulu (25), family member said: “When our house caught on fire no one was at home.

“I was at the shop when our neighbour called to tell me the house went up in flames.”

She said Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue were on the scene.

In the meantime, the family is residing with a relative.

“All we have is the clothes that we wore that day.

“We lost everything in the fire.”
