Five-year-old and 12-year-old raped in Ermelo

Capt Prinsloo said: “As she was walking in Ezibayeni, Thusi Village, she was confronted by a man, who forced her to a nearby open field and raped her.”

Ermelo Police are investigating two cases of rape that occurred on 24 and 25 October.

The victims in both cases were minors.

According to Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesman for Ermelo Police, the first case was reported on 24 October.

She added that the mother of a five-year-old girl was bathing the child when she noticed the blood.

She questioned the little girl and was told that she was raped by a man.

No arrest has yet been made.

In the second unrelated incident, a 12-year-old girl was on her way to her grandmother’s house on 25 October.

Capt Prinsloo said: “As she was walking in Ezibayeni, Thusi Village, she was confronted by a man, who forced her to a nearby open field and raped her.”

Ermelo Police urged any person who has information that can help with the investigation to contact Sgt Collin Maredi at 017 801 0517 or 072 638 1652.
