Couple in Ermelo allegedly steals valuables while viewing properties for rent or sale

He said: “Estate agent should accompany clients per appointment and if it is a private sale, people should be extremely cautious.”

Mr Theo Craven, control room operator for ACSU and district manager of the South African Community Crime Watch (SACCW) of Gert Sibande, warned residents who are advertising homes and flats to rent or for sale, to be cautious.

He said: “People should beware of a man and woman, who by means of distraction will steal items of value who go under the pretenses that they are looking around at these properties.”

According to him, the couple drive a white Toyota.

Mr Craven urged locals to not fall victim to this couple’s sneaky antics.

He said: “Estate agent should accompany clients per appointment and if it is a private sale, people should be extremely cautious.”

Mr Craven advised people to lock valuable items away.
