Two clerks dismissed at licensing offices in Standerton

The Standerton Advertiser began investigating the dismissal of two administrative clerks at the licensing offices in Standerton on Tuesday, 27 October.

According to information, particulars on the eNatis-system were changed.

A vehicle owner’s details were also altered to those of a retailer, succeeding in not paying the appropriate licence fee.

The newspaper contacted the spokesman of the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga, under which jurisdiction the offices fall, the same day.

Mr Moeti Mmusi referred the newspaper to Mr Simon Zwane of the Road Traffic Management Corporation.

According to Mr Zwane, the two employees were found guilty after a disciplinary hearing on Friday, 23 October.

“We are now working on the outcome of other workers similarly charged,” he said.
