Two women raped and robbed by three armed men in Davel

According to the investigating officer, Sgt Mafate, the women were on their way home, when they were approached by three unknown armed men.

Davel Police are investigating a case of rape and armed robbery that took place on 6de Road in Davel on 11 October.

The men were armed with kitchen knives.

One of the women managed to escape, but was pursued by a suspect.

Her friend was left with the remaining two suspects who forced her to a nearby shack, where one of them raped her.

“She learned later that her friend was caught by the third suspect who robbed her.”

After a case was opened at Davel Police Station, the woman described the suspects and facial compositions were drawn.

According to the information received, one of the suspects is between the ages of 25 and 30, and spoke to the woman in Zulu.

Sgt Mafate urged anyone who has information regarding the suspects to contact her at 072 638 1652.
