Blood stained mop found at murder scene in Carolina

When the police arrived at the scene they found the lifeless body of the 21-year-old woman in a pool of blood.

A 31-year-old man appeared in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on 3 November in connection with the murder of his girlfriend.
 
According to Sgt Thabang Mokwana, spokesman for Carolina Police, they received a noise complaint from community members from the Crossroad Silobela Location on 2 November at about 4am.
 
He added that the complainant reported that the noises sounded like possible domestic violence.
 
When the police arrived at the scene they found the lifeless body of the 21-year-old woman in a pool of blood.
 
She is said to have had wounds to her head.
 
 
The man attempted to flee from the police, but was soon arrested.
 
Police members found a mop on the floor which was stained with blood.
 
Police are of the opinion that the suspect potentially used it to hit the victim during their altercation.
 
The case is still under investigation.
 

Sgt Mokwna said: “We urged the community to report domestic violence and gender based violence immediately to the police.”

“We plead with victims of domestic abuse to value their lives and get out while they still can.”
