Breyten Police launch manhunt for four farm attackers

“The farmer was approached by four armed men, who pulled him out of his vehicle and dragged him to the front of his car.”

Breyten Police launched a manhunt for four farm attackers, after a 32-year-old farmer was attacked and robbed on his farm Watervaal near Breyten of 9 November.

According to Sgt Thabo Mashegoane, spokesman for Breyten Police, the farmer came home from work at about 11.30pm.

He stopped in front of his gate to unlock and open the gate.

“The farmer was approached by four armed men, who pulled him out of his vehicle and dragged him to the front of his car.”

The men were all wearing balaclavas.

They assaulted the farmer, and began searching his vehicle.

Sgt Mashegoane added that the farmer managed to escape the men, and ran towards his house.

The four men fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, leaving the farmer’s car at the gate.

“No one has yet been arrested and the police investigation and manhunt are still underway.”
