Settle your outstanding traffic fines
Warrants of arrest are issued by the court for the people who have failed to adhere to notices to appear in court for the summonses authorised by the courts.
The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL) issued a statement on Friday, 6 November, calling on all motorists and drivers to settle their outstanding traffic fines or face arrest.
These summonses are issued in terms of the Criminal Procedure Act.
Warrants of arrest are issued by the court for the people who have failed to adhere to notices to appear in court for the summonses authorised by the courts.
The general manager for transport regulation, Mr Sibandiso Nkuna, has announced that a team has been set up to track down and arrest 15 motorists and vehicle owners with the biggest number of warrants of arrest notices.
According to Mr Nkuna, the team would have visited the top 15 offenders by Friday, 13 November.
“No efforts will be spared to bring offenders to book,” he said.
