“I truly respect Mr Singh, because it is something he does on a monthly basis.”
Ms Ntombi Ngobese, Mrs Mpumalanga-finalist in association with Food For Life Ermelo fed locals of Ermelo on 24 October.
Food For Life Ermelo feeds the community once every month.
Ms Ngobese said: “Hospitality is one of the attributes that was revealed by the network course that I attended at our church.
“I joined the team at church and participated in mission trips to Lesotho and Swaziland where we served the community in different areas.”
Ever since she became a Mrs Mpumalanga-finalist, she had an idea to also do something for the community of Ermelo.
Ms Ngobese found out about Mr Paddy Singh, the organiser and manager of Food For Life Ermelo, through one of her colleagues.
“Mr Singh has been doing this for years.”
She said: “I then visited him to find out how we can help each other in serving the community.
“I wanted to leave a lasting, positive impact on the society.”
Ms Ngobese added, it is not an easy task to do as you need to have the heart for it.
“I truly respect Mr Singh, because it is something he does on a monthly basis.”
Helping others makes Ms Ngobese happy and it is good for mental health and emotional well being.
