Londeka Day Care Centre hosted a Covid-19 awareness event in Suncity Location, Extension 32 in Ermelo on 18 November.

According to Ms Nomaswazi Malaza, organiser, the event was held to teach the community about the dangers of the coronavirus.

Ms Malaza stated: “They taught the community on ways to protect themselves.

“The learners demonstrated the proper way of wearing a mask, sanitise your hands, keep social distances and how to efficiently cover their coughs and sneezes.”

She added, members at the daycare have seen the need to do this, because they have seen many people ignoring the rules and regulations of Covid-19, especially at a nearby taxi rank.

“For the learners, it was a friendly reminder to the community that the disease still exists.”
