AfriForum fills up potholes in streets of Bethal

According to Hennie Bekker, District Coordinator, Lowveld District AfriForum said 320 bags of pothole fix were used and the project thus far has costed R16 000.

BETHAL – AfriForum has been in full swing since the beginning of the year and has recently filled up potholes in Gemsbok and Blesbok Road.

Stop signs were also fixed on the corner of Gemsbok and Davel Street, as well as Jabulani Selepi and Percy De Cock Street.

According to Mr Hennie Bekker, District Coordinator, Lowveld District AfriForum, 320 bags of pothole fix were used and the project thus far has cost R16 000.

“Through the community’s help we managed to raise R8 000 towards these costs,” said Mr Bekker.

He said that the next areas of focus should be Tsibitso Sibanyoni and Malherbe Street. Other projects will also see stop signs being fixed in the coming months as well as the painting of street names on concrete slabs in the area of Malherbe Street.

“Our new stencils have arrived and concrete slabs will be removed for the painting of the names. They will be replaced once this is done,” said Mr Bekker.
