All-new Nissan Qashqai revealed and confirmed for Mzansi

The Premiere Edition will offer customers unprecedented convenience features which are normally found in upper automotive segments.

Nissan has unveiled its third-generation Qashqai SUV that is slated to launch in Mzansi later in the year 2021.

The exact timing, as well as specifications, will be released in due course. The first customers will be offered a special launch version called the Premiere Edition.

The Premiere Edition will offer customers unprecedented convenience features which are normally found in upper automotive segments.

Although details of the new Nissan Qashqai are still scarce at this stage, it features a 9-inch TFT screen that houses the brand’s upgraded infotainment system. There is an additional 12-inch TFT configurable screen replaces the traditional dials.

There is also a 10.8-inch Head-Up Display, a 15w wireless charging unit, wireless Apple CarPlay, 4 USB charging ports, with 2 USB-A and 2 USB-C ports. The interior follows a classic format, with black cloth trim, black dashboard and centre console.

The Premiere Edition Qashqai will be available with the newly upgraded ProPILOT with Navi-link.

The new Nissan Qashqai is equipped with LED matrix headlights that are equipped with advanced driving beam technology.

The exterior of the Premiere Edition has been elevated thanks to the introduction of a palette of two-tone colour options for a more personalised choice. The following body colours are available with a striking black roof: new blue, pearl grey and pearl white, while the black body colour is available with a grey roof.

The Premiere Edition also features neatly integrated roof rails, which are finished in a matt silver.

It rides on new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The new Qashqai Premiere Edition is powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine found on the current Qashqai. However, Nissan’s engineers have developed it to include mild hybrid technology which enhances its efficiency

The engine makes 103 kW and 240 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There’s also a 116 kW and 260 Nm derivative available.

Nissan has catered for those wanting a clutchless option, with a CVT being available with either a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive setup, called Xtronic.
