Community helps Ridge Times to salute frontline workers

Thanks to the support from the community and local businesses, we were able to fill and distribute 326 care packs to Evander EMS, Evander Hospital, ER 24 Ambulance Services, Langamed South Ambulance Services, Ampath, Lancet, Pathcare Pathology, Highveld Radiology at the Highveld Mediclinic, the Muslim Burial Society, Bethal EMS and Bethal Hospital.

HIGHVELD – More than 150 frontline workers had been infected in the Govan Mbeki municipal area since Covid-19 reached South African shores in March last year.

These are only the frontline workers in local hospitals and the number does not include paramedics, lab technicians, the nurses at the testing stations and the heroes in the radiology department who daily work with Covid-19 patients.

Ridge Times therefore decided to gift these unsung heroes with care packs as a token of appreciation.

Most received these gifts with tears of joy and thankfulness.
