SAVF in Stranderton trains people in legal norms and standards

The SAVF in Standerton trained individuals and organisations running a crèche, day-care, aftercare or playgroup in complying with legal norms and standards on Tuesday, 23 February.
Ms Hanlie Brits and Ms Hellen Marima, social workers at the SAVF, explained the finer details of an early childhood development programme (ECD).
Section 95 of the Children’s Act 38 of 2005 cites that an ECD, with more than five children at a given time, has to comply with the
Department of Social Development’s regulations.
According to Section 100 of the above-mentioned act, as amended, the department or the municipality are allowed to stop any programme, should they not comply. “The registration process gives parents the assurance that their children are safe,’ Ms Brits said earlier.
