“When someone is fighting cancer, 90% of the trauma also affects the family of the fighter,” Mr Oosthuizen said.
The club raised money for cancer fighter, Teagen van Wyk (4) and his family to assist them with their medical bills. The Van Wyk family were the guests of honour at the Shavathon, as well as Ms
Ita van Dyk who is also battling cancer.
Local business and organisations came together and contributed money and goodies for Teagen.
Ms Van Dyk and Ms Maggie van Wyk, mother of Teagan, extended their gratitude to the Moths Club and everyone who played a role.
“Thank you to all the donors who helped to make the event possible,” Mr Oosthuizen concluded.
